SYD-MEL-SYD

Okay its been awhile since I have made a post, so there is alot to talk about.  First night that I arrived in Sydney I stayed in a really sketchy in Kings Cross( dont go there).  I stayed with a guy from Ireland who eventually was kicked out of the hostel for stabbing a guy with a beer bottle.  He should have been kicked out for drinking beer at 7 am!  Then I stayed with a really wonderful couple I met, Jay and Mar, while I was stuck in LA.  The gave Otwell, Nicole, and myself a really awesome place to stay in Darling Harbour.  I then stayed in the best hostel in Sydney(same place I'm at tonight).  Its in the Sydney Harbour.  From the room of the building I have an amazing view of the Opera House and the Sydney Bridge. For some reason I have been hanging out with alot of older people on my trip!  Dont know why this is happening guess they enjoy talking to a younger fellow.  It think it may be senior night or the nursing home is taking a tour or something, because there are hepes of old folks around.   After staying here I moved to a couple more hostels around Sydney, 1 in Bondi, 1 in central.  The beaches around Sydney are really great.  I then started my trip to Melbourne.  It took an 11 hour train ride down on Friday and arrived Saturday morning.   Went to the Mel museum for a while and checked out some great exhibits. Also, saw the Hubble 3D Imax while I was there. If you get the chance to see it do.  Mel is a really cool city.   Lots of things to walk around and see. I went to the gay pride festival on Sat. I went to the forum and the market which were both very cool.  Then Carley and myself rented a really sweet car (called the Getz).  We drove that sweet machine down the Great Ocean Road for three days and stayed in Eco beach hostel in Apollo Bay.  This place was very relaxing.   The GOR was amazing.  We saw koala's all over the place and I drove on the Wrong side of the car.  We then went back to Melbourne for another day.  Then next day we woke up and headed back Sydney, which I arrived at 7 pm today.  I have went through countless number of peanut butter jars!   Along the way I have met some great people that I have not mentioned due to the time I have to write, but I can tell Everyone about my new mates later sometime.  I'm getting ready to head to the blue mountians for a week or so.  Then maybe get to paddle the Whitewater course in Penrith.  I've been thinking about all of you back home and hope all is well.  I've been praying for Four Corners and the Gospel communties I'm apart of.  I tell all of my new mates about my great community back home( they are all a bit jealous).   Well I'll try and write again sooner so I can give more details rather then writing a broad overview of everything.  Please ignore all of my spelling and grammer mistakes.   I know there are loads of them...

  2. Hey Dude, sorry its taken me so long to respond to this. What a great post. Gay praide fest, huh? Thats cool I guess, just reliving your glory days when we all lived up in ATL! Anywho, Pretty cool to think that my little brother is taking the same trip, I took when I was his age, 8 years later. Seeing the same stuff I saw, driving the same places I did. Thats just really crazy. All except for the gay pride fest, I missed out on that one. Well, hope to see another post soon, I hope Fraser Island is awesome, it was when I was there! Love you Bro.
